FOUNDATION Transition

At Viewbank Primary School we believe that smooth transition between Kindergarten and the foundation year is extremely important in setting up a lifelong love of learning. We work closely with our local kindergartens, childcare centres and parents to ensure we can provide the best possible academic and social outcomes.

In May we have our first ‘Open Night’ where you can come and find out about our school and meet the current Prep team. We will also be having an Education Week open morning and a chance to have a tour on a Saturday. Our ‘Story land’, ‘Maths land’ and ‘PMP land’ sessions give students the opportunity to interact with other children and tackle some Prep activities. Towards the end of the year we have our classroom sessions with their teacher. This gives students a chance to get to know both their classmates and their teacher and get excited about the following year!

Here are downloadable social stories that can be shared with your child to help familiarise them with Viewbank Primary School. These resources will help your family understand what to expect when starting school.

To arrange a personal tour of the school and collect a Parent Information Pack, please contact the School Office on (03) 9459 1512 to make an appointment.
